Spyros Argeros, a New York City native, has announced his commitment to Columbia University for the fall of 2027, where he will continue both his academic and athletic career. Argeros swims for Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics and attends Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School. He had a successful long course season at Summer Juniors, finaling in the 200 breast with 2:18.93, and saw lifetime bests in the 100 breast (1:04.70) and 200 IM (2:10.42). During the spring, he won the 200 breast at Sectionals in Ithaca with a lifetime best 1:57.76 and placed second in the 100 breast with 55.55. Columbia men finished fourth at the 2026 Ivy League Championships. Based on his best times, Argeros has the potential to make an immediate impact at the conference level. He is the first public commitment in Columbia's class of 2031.
